Getting to St. Palace Hotel
When you travel to Vilnius, Lithuania, you will likely land at Vilnius International Airport. It is a small airport located around 5 kilometers from the Old Town.
There are two main ways to get to St. Palace Hotel:
- Uber/Taxi ($$)
- Bus ($)
Option 1: Uber/Taxi ($$)
Cost: ~8 euro
Time: ~15 minutes
Whether you use Uber or Taxi, they are comparable in price. From the airport, the Uber I called ended up actually being a taxi driver. The airport added an additional 3.50 euro fee as well, but it was still a cost-effective and easy way to get to the hotel.
Option 2: Bus ($)
Cost: 1 euro
Time: ~20 minutes
If you are on a budget, opt to take the bus to the Old Town. At the bus stop, there are a couple of different buses that will get you to the Old Town. The 2 or 88 get you closest to the St. Palace Hotel, which would have about a 5-minute walk at the end.

Lobby & Check In
When you enter the hotel, you will find a clean and stylish lobby. The main lobby area has the reception desk, which is staffed 24/7. Off to the side, you will find another nice seating area with couches and chairs. The check-in process was very smooth. I booked through Expedia and they just needed my passport and to fill out a contact details form to check in.
Rooms
During my stay, I opted for the Classic Double Room at the St. Palace Hotel. When I stayed in October 2023, it was around $65 CAD a night, which was a great price for a 4-star hotel in the Old Town of Vilnius.
When you walk in, you are greeted by a stunning chandelier right above the bed. The bed and pillows are very comfy, but I would have liked more than 2 pillows for optimal comfort. There were smaller lights, outlets, and side tables on both sides of the bed as well, which was very convenient. In front of the window, there is a wide ledge, which I used as a little reading nook while doing a bit of people-watching!
I found the room to be quite soundproof, but I also visited during the off-season when it was not too busy.
There was a great TV in the room, sitting at around 40-45 inches. It was a smart TV, so you can log in to Netflix or other streaming apps (don’t forget to log out at the end of your stay!). The desk and chair were a great spot to do some work before exploring the city as well. In one of the side cupboards is a mini fridge, with the typical mini bar amenities in it. The prices were quite steep for the minibar and it left very little room to store your own drinks and food in the fridge.
You’d think the most stunning part of this hotel room was the chandelier above the bed. But no, it is undoubtedly the bathroom. The bathroom is covered in marble tile on all sides of the room, even the countertop and surrounding the tub! The gold finishes of the towel racks, shower head, and accessories scream luxury. The provided towels were clean and fresh, but the bath towels were a bit small.
My only qualm with this bathroom was the shower tub – it was quite difficult to get into, slippery, and the shower “door” caused water to get everywhere. It seems to prioritize aesthetics rather than function. Be careful getting in and out of the shower!

Location
St. Palace Hotel is located right in Old Town in Vilnius, Lithuania. Right out my window, I could see the Holy Trinity Uniate Church (pictured above).
The hotel is located at the edge of the Old Town, about a 5-minute walk to Town All Square and a 15-minute walk to Cathedral Square.
I was quite happy with the location of the hotel as it is very walkable and surrounded by restaurants and shops.
Is There a Restaurant at the St. Palace Hotel?
The restaurant at the hotel is called Medininkai and is accessible directly from the inside of the hotel near the lobby. It serves local Lithuanian cuisine, along with some international dishes. The price is good compared to Canadian restaurants but is a bit steep for Vilnius.
Lithuanian dishes to try:
- Cold beetroot soup served with potatoes
- Fried bread served with cheese sauce
- Stuffed potato with cheese or meat
- Meat dishes! However, I can’t recommend any as I am a vegetarian. 🙂
Note: There is no tipping expected in Lithuania!
Is St. Palace Hotel Worth the Price?
To me, the hotel was definitely worth the price! When I stayed, it was only around $65 CAD a night which is an incredible price for a 4-star hotel compared to hotels in Canada. There are numerous other hotel options that are cheaper than this one if you are on a tighter budget. After staying in hostel beds across Europe, the splurge for this room was definitely worth it!
